Current Granting Procedure
Current Granting Procedure
The Foundation used to accept applications and had competitions with specific deadlines. Is there any current way to put a proposal to the Board of Directors?
➤ All grants are approved by the Foundation’s Board of Directors which will consider any application sponsored by a member of the Foundation.
➤ Grants are given to organizations and causes in which members have some interest and involvement. A member can declare an interest in a cause or organization and that organization will be invited to outline its project and supply the necessary documentation for an application to be presented to the Directors.
➤ No unsponsored applications will be presented to the Board.
In recent competitions the Foundation was overwhelmed by applications and the then secretary was discouraged by the number of rejection letters he was forced to write. The members are no longer able to provide the resources to process, screen, and evaluate the many requests we were receiving. It has been decided that for the immediate future members themselves can identify projects and organizations that are consistent with the Foundation’s mission and goals. The door, however, is not completely closed . . . .
Yes. You can e-mail the Foundation with information about a project or organization. This e-mail will be circulated to members, any one of whom may decide to sponsor an application to be presented to the Board. An invitation to apply is not a guarantee of a grant.
If and when the Foundation agrees to accept an application, follow this link to see what is required.
